Things to Remember

1. Plan your trip in advance: To get the most out of your Andaman holiday, it is important to plan ahead and ensure that you book accommodation and activities in advance. This will help to ensure that you don’t miss out on any of the best attractions or experiences.

2. Get travel insurance: Many people neglect to buy travel insurance when going abroad, but it is essential for a trip to Andaman due to the remote location and unpredictable weather conditions. Make sure that you have comprehensive cover for all eventualities before you set off.

3. Research the local customs: Before travelling to any destination, it is important to research local customs so that you can be respectful of cultural differences. This is particularly important in Andaman, as many locals are wary of tourists due to previous conflicts with colonization. Do some research into what type of behaviour is expected before visiting any villages or sites of cultural significance.

4. Bring cash with you: As Andaman isn’t a particularly touristy destination yet, there are limited options for withdrawing money from ATMs or using credit cards at shops or restaurants – so make sure that you bring enough cash with you for your duration of stay as well as emergency money just in case!

5. Be prepared for tropical weather: The climate in Andaman is hot and humid year-round, so come prepared with plenty of sunscreen and insect repellent! Additionally, during the monsoon season (May-October) the island can experience some heavy rainfalls, so pack accordingly and be prepared for wet weather if necessary!
