Gujarat
Where the desert turns white, lions roam free, and culture runs deep. Experience the surreal Rann of Kutch, spot Asiatic lions at Gir, and discover vibrant handicrafts and delicious vegetarian cuisine.
Why Gujarat?
Gujarat offers some of India's most unique experiences that you simply won't find anywhere else. The Rann of Kutch - a vast white salt desert stretching to the horizon - is unlike any landscape on Earth. During full moon nights, the white expanse seems to glow, creating an almost spiritual experience.
Add to this the only place in the world where you can see Asiatic lions in the wild at Gir National Park, ancient pilgrimage sites like Dwarka and Somnath, the world's largest statue (Statue of Unity), and some of India's most delicious vegetarian cuisine - Gujarat is a feast for the senses.
Rann of Kutch - The White Desert
The Great Rann of Kutch spans over 7,500 square kilometers of white salt marsh - the largest of its kind in the world. For most of the year it's submerged, but from October to March it emerges as a vast white canvas. The annual Rann Utsav (November to February) transforms this desert into a cultural festival with tent cities, folk performances, handicraft exhibitions, and magical full moon nights.
Gir National Park - Land of Lions
Home to the last wild Asiatic lions, Gir is a must-visit for wildlife enthusiasts. Unlike African safaris, the forests here are deciduous and sightings happen at closer range. Beyond lions, Gir shelters leopards, hyenas, crocodiles, and over 300 bird species.
