Practical Tips for Thailand

Weather

November-February is cool and dry (best time). March-May is hot. June-October is rainy season but still enjoyable - fewer crowds and lower prices.

Food

Vegetarian food is available but ask "mai sai nam pla" (no fish sauce). Indian restaurants in tourist areas. Try Pad Thai, Tom Yum, and mango sticky rice!

Money

Cash is king for street food and markets. ATMs everywhere but charge fees. Carry Thai Baht - better rates exchanging in Thailand than in India.

Temple Etiquette

Cover shoulders and knees at temples. Remove shoes before entering. Don't point feet at Buddha images. Thai king is highly revered - show respect.
