Why Australia

One trip, a lifetime of "remember when we…"

Australia is the holiday you save up for and never forget — the Opera House sails glowing over Sydney Harbour, the Twelve Apostles standing in the Southern Ocean, koalas in the gum trees and the Great Barrier Reef shimmering off Cairns. It is a long-haul dream that rewards you with clean cities, easy English, wide open road trips and some of the friendliest people you will ever meet.

For Bangalore families and honeymooners, it is the perfect big trip — theme parks on the Gold Coast for the kids, Great Ocean Road drives for the romantics, the red heart of Uluru for the soul, and good Indian food never far away. We have been sending Bengaluru travellers down under since 2015, handling the visa, the long flights and the on-ground plan so all you carry is your camera.

Travel tips from our team

  • Southern Hemisphere — seasons are flipped; pack for spring/autumn outside the Dec–Feb summer
  • It is a big country — pick two or three regions rather than racing across it
  • Apply for the visa 4–6 weeks ahead with clean, recent bank statements
  • Distances are huge — budget for internal flights (Sydney–Cairns or Sydney–Uluru)
  • Sun is strong even on mild days — carry sunscreen, a hat, and reef-safe sunscreen for the Reef
  • Tipping is not expected, tap water is safe, and Indian/vegetarian food is easy in the cities

FAQs

Australia, answered

Do Indians need a visa for Australia, and can we get an ETA?

Yes, a visa is required, and Indian passport holders are not eligible for the ETA or eVisitor. You apply for the Visitor visa (subclass 600), Tourist stream, online through ImmiAccount, with biometrics at a VFS Global centre in India. We guide you through every step.

How long does the Australia tourist visa take?

Around 11–28 days in early 2026, though it can take longer during busy periods. We recommend applying about 4–6 weeks before your travel date for a comfortable buffer.

When is the best time to visit Australia?

September–November (spring) and March–May (autumn) are ideal for pleasant weather and fewer crowds. December–February is warm summer and beach season but the busiest and priciest.

How long is the flight from Bangalore to Australia?

Qantas flies Bengaluru to Sydney non-stop in about 12 hours (note this route is suspended roughly 8 August to 24 October 2026). One-stop options via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or the Gulf run roughly 14–16 hours.

How many days do we need for Australia?

We suggest 8–9 nights for a first trip covering two or three regions, such as Sydney with the Gold Coast and Cairns, or Sydney with Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road. Australia is vast, so it is better to enjoy a few areas well.
