Why Malaysia

Two cities, an island and a hill station — Malaysia gives a family everything in one relaxed week

Malaysia is one of the gentlest first international trips a Bangalore family can take — a direct flight of about four and a half hours from BLR drops you into Kuala Lumpur, where the Petronas Twin Towers, big air-conditioned malls, familiar vegetarian and halal food, and easy English make everyone feel at home from day one. Through December 2026 Indian passport holders enjoy 30-day visa-free entry, so there is no embassy queue and no visa fee — just a quick online arrival card before you fly.

What makes Malaysia special is how much it packs into a short holiday. In one trip you can ride the cable car up to cool, misty Genting Highlands, climb the rainbow steps at the Batu Caves temple, fly off to laid-back Langkawi for beaches and island-hopping, or wander the colourful heritage lanes of George Town in Penang. It is clean, safe, well-connected and easy on the pocket.

FAQs

Malaysia, answered

Do Indians need a visa for Malaysia in 2026?

The Malaysia Digital Arrival Card is a mandatory online registration within 3 days before arrival on the official Imigresen portal. It is completely free — please ignore any website that asks you to pay for it.

How long is the flight from Bangalore to Malaysia?

Kuala Lumpur is a direct flight of about 4 hours 15 to 30 minutes from Bengaluru, on carriers like AirAsia, Batik Air, IndiGo and Malaysia Airlines.

When is the best time to visit Malaysia?

December to September is generally good, with May to July driest in Kuala Lumpur and January–February ideal for Langkawi beaches. The west coast sees heavier rain in October–November.

Is Malaysia good for vegetarian and Indian food?

Very much so — Kuala Lumpur has a large Indian community, especially around Brickfields (Little India), so pure-veg, Jain and South Indian food is easy to find.
