Why Oman

Why Oman is the Middle East trip with soul

If Dubai is all glass and glitter, Oman is its quiet, soulful neighbour — and that is exactly why our travellers fall for it. Just three and a half hours direct from Bengaluru, you land in a country of dramatic fjords, copper-coloured deserts, palm-shaded wadis where you can swim in cool turquoise pools, and a capital, Muscat, that has kept its low-rise white character and genuine Arabian warmth.

This is Arabia for people who want nature and culture over malls and nightclubs — the soaring Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the lantern-lit Mutrah Souq, Bedouin nights on the dunes of Wahiba Sands, frankincense markets, and the green monsoon miracle of Salalah. Omanis are famously friendly, the roads are excellent, and it stays refreshingly uncrowded. We handle the visa, the right-season timing and the transfers; you just bring your sense of wonder.

Travel tips from our team

  • Carry modest clothing for the Grand Mosque and rural areas — shoulders and knees covered, a scarf for ladies
  • For wadi swims, pack quick-dry clothes, water shoes and a dry bag
  • Decide your season — Oct–Mar for Muscat, deserts and mountains; Jun–Sep only for Salalah's green Khareef
  • A private driver-cum-guide works beautifully; plan internal flights for the south
  • Omani weekends are Friday–Saturday; the Nizwa livestock market is a Friday-morning affair
  • Tell us if anyone holds a US/UK/Schengen/Canada/Australia visa — it may let you skip the eVisa for short trips

FAQs

Oman, answered

Do Indians need a visa for Oman in 2026?

Most do — an eVisa via the Royal Oman Police portal (a 10-day or 30-day tourist visa). However, if you hold a valid, preferably multiple-entry US/UK/Canada/Australia/Japan/Schengen or GCC visa or residence, you can enter visa-free for up to 14 days with a return ticket and hotel. We confirm the right route.

How much does the Oman eVisa cost?

The 10-day eVisa is OMR 5 (about ₹1,100) and the 30-day is OMR 20 (about ₹4,300), usually approved by email within 1–3 working days. We confirm the current amount when we apply for you.

When is the best time to visit Oman?

October to March is ideal for Muscat, the deserts and the mountains. The famous green Khareef monsoon is only in Salalah in the far south, from June to September. The north gets very hot in summer.

How long is the flight from Bangalore to Oman?

Direct flights from Bengaluru to Muscat take about 3 hours 35 minutes (Oman Air and SalamAir), with no jet lag — one of the easiest international getaways from Bangalore.

Is Oman safe and good for families and couples?

Very much so — one of the safest, friendliest countries in the region, with excellent roads. It suits couples wanting a romantic, uncrowded escape and families looking for gentle adventure.
