The beach holiday Bangalore can do on a long weekend
Goa is the getaway Bangalore reaches for first — barely an hour in the air, and you trade tech-park traffic for palm-lined sand, Portuguese lanes and the easiest pace in the country. North Goa hums with beach shacks, flea markets and nightlife around Baga, Calangute and Anjuna; South Goa keeps it slow and spacious on Palolem, Colva and Benaulim. In between sit the things people forget Goa even has — UNESCO-listed churches at Old Goa, the candy-coloured Fontainhas quarter in Panaji, hilltop forts and a thundering waterfall on the Karnataka border.
It is also one of the most budget-friendly trips we plan. Flights are short and cheap, hotels span backpacker to five-star, and a three or four-night break leaves room for both the buzz and the susegad. Whether it's a couple's escape, a family beach week or a friends' road-trip-by-air, Goa rarely asks for more than a weekend and always gives back more than you expect.

Travel tips from our team
- November to February is the sweet spot; book early as Christmas and New Year fill fast and spike
- Choose your base by mood — North for nightlife, South for calm; many split a few nights in each
- Hire a scooter or keep a car-and-driver; Goa is spread out
- For the cheapest flights and quiet beaches, consider October or shoulder March; mid-week is cheaper
- Monsoon (Jun–Sep) is lush, peaceful and low-priced with Dudhsagar at full roar, but most shacks shut
- Carry light cottons, reef-safe sunscreen and cash for the markets
Goa, answered
When is the best time to visit Goa?
November to February is peak — sunny and calm (Christmas and New Year are crowded and pricey). October and March are pleasant shoulder months. June to September is monsoon — lush, quiet and budget-friendly, with Dudhsagar at its most dramatic but limited beach time.
How many days do I need in Goa?
Three to four nights is the sweet spot for a relaxed long weekend. If you want to do both North and South Goa properly, plan four to five nights.
Should I stay in North Goa or South Goa?
North Goa (Baga, Calangute, Anjuna) is lively — shacks, water sports, flea markets and nightlife. South Goa (Palolem, Colva, Benaulim) is quieter and greener. Many travellers split their stay to enjoy both.
How do I get to Goa from Bangalore?
The easiest way is a direct flight — about an hour to Goa's Dabolim (GOI) or Mopa/Manohar (GOX) airports. You can also take an overnight train or sleeper bus (around 12 hours) or drive (roughly 10 hours). We arrange flights and all transfers.
What is included in an Oyster Goa package?
Our indicative packages cover return Bengaluru–Goa flights, your hotel, airport transfers and local sightseeing transport, with breakfast at most hotels. Water sports, cruises and the Dudhsagar safari can be added. Tell us your dates and group on WhatsApp.
