The grand European tour, sorted from start to Schengen
For so many Bangalore families and couples, Europe is the once-in-a-lifetime trip — the Eiffel Tower at dusk, a cog-train climbing into the snow-dusted Swiss Alps, a gondola gliding through a Venetian canal, Rome's ancient streets warm underfoot. A classic multi-country tour stitches France, Switzerland and Italy (and often the Netherlands or Austria) into one seamless journey, so you wake up in a different postcard every few days.
What makes it feel effortless is the planning behind it. From the Schengen visa paperwork to airport transfers, comfortable coaches, hand-picked hotels and a tour manager who speaks your language, we handle the moving parts so you simply soak it all in. Since 2015 we have sent Bangalore travellers across Europe and back with stories they still tell.

Travel tips from our team
- Apply for your Schengen visa early — at least 3–4 weeks ahead, sooner for summer travel
- Pack one warm jacket even in summer for the alpine excursions
- Carry a mix of Euros in cash and a forex card; small cafés and toilets want coins
- Wear broken-in walking shoes — European sightseeing means a lot of cobblestones
- Keep digital and printed copies of your passport, visa, insurance and hotel vouchers
- Indian vegetarians and Jain travellers are well looked after — we arrange Indian meals most days
Europe, answered
How does the Schengen visa work for a three-country trip like this?
This is the part most travellers lose sleep over, so let us make it plain. For France, Italy and Switzerland together you apply for a single Type C Schengen sticker visa in advance through VFS Global here in Bengaluru — you lodge it with the country where you will spend the most nights, or your first point of entry. It covers up to 90 days in any 180, and includes giving biometrics in person at VFS. It is not hard, but it is document-heavy and time-sensitive. We build the full visa file — itinerary, hotel and flight confirmations, cover letter, financials — and book your VFS appointment, which is really where our help earns its keep.
When should we start the visa process — is there a rush?
Start early, genuinely. Summer is peak season for European travel and VFS appointment slots in Bengaluru fill up fast, so leaving it late can mean either no slot or an anxious wait for the visa to come back before your flight. We like to begin the paperwork comfortably ahead of your travel dates so there is breathing room if anything needs a second look. Booking the appointment the moment your file is ready is the single biggest thing that keeps a European trip stress-free.
Is travel insurance actually mandatory, or just recommended?
Mandatory — the Schengen rules require travel insurance with medical cover of at least €30,000 for the whole trip, and your visa will not be granted without it. Beyond ticking the box, it is sensible cover to have when you are that far from home. We arrange a compliant policy as a standard part of your visa file, so it is handled correctly rather than being a last-minute scramble that could hold up the application.
There is no direct flight — how long is the journey and what is the smart routing?
Correct, there is no nonstop from Bengaluru to Europe on this route, so you will change once — typically 11 to 14 hours in total via a Gulf hub like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha or a Turkish connection. The trick is choosing a layover that is long enough to be relaxed but not so long you are camped at the gate, and landing at your first European city at an hour that lets you check in and settle. As ever, the cheapest fare is often hand-baggage-only, so we compare the real all-in cost with checked bags before booking.
Three countries in one trip sounds intense — how do we not spend it all on a coach, and will we find Indian food?
It is a fair worry, because a poorly planned multi-country tour can feel like living on a bus. We pace the itinerary so the long coach transfers are broken up and you get proper time in Paris, the Swiss Alps and the Italian cities rather than just glimpsing them from a window, and a good tour manager makes the border-hopping seamless. On food, the big cities — Paris, Rome, Milan, the Interlaken area — all have Indian and vegetarian options, and we build those into the plan so you are never stuck. Remember you are also swapping between the Euro and, in Switzerland, the Swiss Franc.
