How do we actually reach the resort from Malé, and why does timing matter?
From Malé airport you transfer by speedboat or seaplane, depending on how far your resort sits. Here’s the catch most people miss: seaplanes only fly in daylight, so a late-evening flight from Bengaluru can strand you at an airport hotel overnight, losing a paid resort night. It’s a classic first-timer trap. We deliberately hold arrival times that connect to a same-day transfer, so you land, board your boat or seaplane, and wake up on your island — not near the airport.
On a local island, what are the rules on alcohol and dress?
Local islands are inhabited Muslim communities, so a little respect goes a long way. In the village you dress modestly — shoulders and knees covered — and swimwear like bikinis is kept to the marked bikini beach set aside for tourists. Alcohol isn’t sold on local islands at all; if you want a drink, it’s served at resorts or on the floating bars moored offshore, which day-trips can reach.
